Is .us domain name worthwhile?

HI,
I wanted to know what you guys think about .US domain names.

Actually, i came across a really nice domain name,
but but but, its only availalable in .US
So i was wondering if it is worthwhile?
it consists of 2 words, and is quite short, and gets aroun 6k searches for that particular MEANINgful phrase.

accroding to estibot that domain name is worth 500 usd +

what are your views?

Honestly in, IMHO, every domain name other than a .com (or a .org for a nonprofit) is questionable.

.com is the only thing that strikes me a legit, unless you find a way to work the TLD into your key word some way, (similar to how dealspl .us does it) it's just doesn't seem attractive to me.

but do you think something like quitsmoking(dot)us is good investment?
well, its not mine, i just wanted to have some views.

That could have some merit if your content was also geared towards organizations in the US that help you quit smoking, or included lists of states where smoking is banned, US doctors reports or US Surgeon General info about smoking health risks.


Just think you have to "sell" the "US" part of your URL too.

So many wrong and mislead answers to So many same helpless questions . It is only but only up to you to make this domain valuable. So when you hear such a statement:

Get away from that place as fast as possible. That is the FIRST rule.
