Is URLs taxonomy still relevant in 2017?

Hi there,

Do you think that hierarchy in URLs is still relevant nowadays ?
I have an ecommerce website and I wonder what URL structure is the best?
Something like:
language/brand/category/subcategory/product
Or
language-brand-category-subcategory-product
Or
None of the above

In thory a . ext dont mater but .html seem to be gaining hype from .php or .htm very weird....
