Is Uncapped Modem/Router a thing in 2026

I want to know how fast I can go. I used to have speeds insane then got throttled after some use. Since changed ISPs though want to know a legal/compliant setup. To go FAST!!!

1GB a second?

On any reasonably secured ISP, the config file is authenticated server-side. The days of spinning up TFTP and pushing a config file are long gone, the only reliable way now is paying for a faster connection.

Using an uncapped/modified modem was never 'legal', just loosely enforced.

Why even bother, a 1Gbps up/down fiber from an ISP is like $65 atleast the one I got.
