is twitter too saturated?

I follow like 400 people on twitter and the follow me of course. But like 75% of them are promoting clickbank products and some other aff networks. Just feels so "wtf , why the hell they would bought some product over my aff link if they're promoting other products with the same network, seriously wtf?".

IMO, Twitter is on its way to being saturated. I have people offering me products all the time, and it can be annoying when you think your actually following someone. I promote on it, but my theory is that if someone else is doing it and making money, I can to.

Twitter will never get saturated. Why? People use Twitter daily, real people. As long as real people are using it, sure there will be spammers, but there are spammers everywhere. I have a feeling that Twitter is also going to come to its senses and limit the amount of people you can follow to 100/day, simply because no human follows over 100 people a day.

true the interenet will never be saturated every day more people join and just as many leave so it will never be saturated. twitter is a difficult place to get leads unless you do it properly and even then it is difficult. and dont try to sell a 40 dollar product on twitter i mean come on now lol

Use some type of targeted search...there are plenty of people on twitter, you just need to find the ones whom are most likely to click your link.

yes twitter will NOT get saturated. There are TONS of new people joining everyday. And even if people see all that spam junk, it doesnt mean it wont convert. For example. people get VIAGRA spams to their email everyday... but spammers still do it, because there are idiots that still buy.

I'm not sure that it's going to get oversaturated for the above reasons, but it is becoming harder to find targeted followers for the majority of niches. At least in my experience.

You getting all the people promoting ClickBank products just shows your trying to target people the same as they all are. You have to be original. Figure out a way to target real people. That's your meal ticket.

Unfortunately I was taking a drink when I read that and had to spend a few moments choking before I could reply. Allow me to introduce you to 1999, when the internet was the future.

I worked balls deep in the dotcom bubble from 98 to 01 for a "web media" company with millions and millions of dollars but an absolute lack of anything people actually wanted to view on the web. They spent almost $7mil building out a data center full of machines, storage, oracle and the like to run websites that hardly anyone viewed. They paid the staff highly, even by dotcom standards. And despite all that, even with every dot com failing, we still believed it would last forever.

You believe that anything won't fall down, let me know, I'd like to follow along behind you so I can pick up the pieces and sell what's left for scrap.

There isn't a company today that is 100% safe. For every Google you've got an Altavista.

As for twitter, well, I'm fully on record as saying that twitter's already dead, just nobody's let them know yet. I doubt the percentage of real twitter traffic today is 10% of its total, and with mass creates, friend farming scripts and tweetlater, that number's only going to drop, because for every real person that joins Twitter 1000 drrtygurl69's will be registered who would just love for you to chat with them on their site, credit card required.

The public is fickle in what they use. The signal to noise ratio is going to peg soon for many of the real users, if it hasn't already. There's no controls on facebook that mean anything, and there's no reasonable way to stop the flood.

Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go drink some Open Cola (which I paid for with Flooz credits) while I check my friendster account and listen to all the great music I got from napster.

Well selling and spamming is part of the game!!I don't think twitter will get saturated this easily...May be you have followed such person who are spammers....

If it weren't for advertisements, twitter would be pretty much dead.

twitter is dead. most everyday people ask, "what is twitter?" and once they do join and get countless amounts of followers with campaign ads they hang their twitter hat high and leave. most people use twitter as a current news tube, yes, but any person can simple watch espn and just go to "twitter.com/espnnews" or w/e it is and read the current updates. twitter is as worthless as a bag of rocks, only used to break something. taking facebook and myspace's status updates and making a site about it was a joke.

only thing good about twitter is their easy exploitable api used amongst thousands of twitter apps today.

if you want to make money off a site like twitter i suggest you think outside the box and do something different, try another site.

p.s. you people that do get clicks via twitter, 80% of those are bots.. js.

google want buy twitter, so... It must be not saturated yet. But, perhaps some what people will go away on it

yeah as it was said before as long as real people use twitter it will and can not get saturated

I think there is nothing to surprise about it. Most of the people are trying to make money by using Twitter. So they are trying to promote many things as much as they can. For example clickbank is very common now.

Here's my take on this. Twitter is hugely saturated with marketers and spam. BUT....all that means is that when people tire of all the static, they will simply turn down the volume. They will stop (or not start) following people who they don't actually know, or who don't post tweets that are in some way valuable to the them. The practice of "if I follow you you follow me" will become non-existent. Twitter will build more tools that enable more "walled gardens" within the site that attempt to stop the madness (think Facebook vs. MySpace).

Twitter has something going for it that most over-hyped Internet flameouts don't - a product that grew organically at an amazingly rapid pace. Twitter is also run by some majorly seasoned executives, and they've taken over $55M in startup money from some of the brightest, most well-connected people in tech. Though it's not impossible, I'd be amazed if these people steered the ship into an iceberg with $55M of their cash onboard.

Even if Twitter itself failed, the concept obviously works for people. There would be another company that fixed what Twitter did wrong and would be doing something very similar (maybe "Google Pulse" or something).

Just my 2 cents.
