Is Twitter advertising worth it?

Is Twitter advertising worth growing your follower base? I have an account that is very niche specific, but I don't want to mess with bots, but CPM for a promoted tweet is like $50...
Anyone tried promoting tweets to gain followers?

It depends if you are using the right tools to advertise then yes there is a lot of money to be made out of twitter

Bots I don't think are legitimate advertising tools, and buying retweets from larger accounts is always a pain...

I'm not talking about "Get Ripped Fast" and "Justin Bieber is adorbs in my last post!" spam. Real companies that have real reputations and can't afford to have spammy appearances...

Sure thing man, I agree with you... Leave all that spammy crap for me and continue on thinking small mindedly. Or you can pay Twitter upwards of $2-$3 per follower and see how quick you go broke. To each his own. I have made quite a lot of money using bots in non spammy ways to grow tons of "Real companies" Twitter accts. Just be open minded and you can learn ways to bot effectively and not be spammy.
