I don't see many people talking about Tumblr anymore. Is anyone still using it for traffic, backlinks, or brand building? What results are you getting, and is it worth the time compared to newer platforms?

I’m still getting very good traffic from Tumblr. You should give it a try and see whether it works well for your niche.

I believe Tumblr can still be a valuable source of traffic if you create quality content and share valuable posts within relevant fandom communities.

Tumblr still has users and very active communities, but it's no longer the "primary" traffic generation or branding channel that most businesses and marketers once were. Tumblr should be seen as a supplementary channel rather than a primary growth channel. o_O

I basically treat Tumblr as a juicy web2.0 for my brand.

I don't really care about Tumblr traffic itself but it ranking for my brand name.

It can bring some traffic, but compared to newer platforms it’s more kind of small bonus than a main growth source now.

A few niche creators and bloggers still use it quietly for backlinks and driving traffic to their sites

Last I check, Tumblr still gets good traffic for certain niches. Not unlike how Myspace became a platform for artists into music. Chalk that up to audience-dependent.
Personally, I'd only give it the time of day if my target audience is already there rather than the alternative.

In my experience, it is not really a strong traffic source anymore compared to newer platforms reach is limited unless you already have an active audience there.

most marketers have shifted time away from Tumblr because platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and SEO-focused content bring much better ROI today.
