I'm torrenting all the time. once you go pirate, you cant go back.

There were quite a few methods back in the day. The most popular/well-known was the password method. You uploaded a password protected zip/rar file along with a txt file to high traffic public trackers. The compressed file (supposedly) contained something in high demand. The txt file contained the instructions how to access the compressed file, which involved downloading another txt file with the password from a PPD site like Sharecash.

There are some people that seed torrents for crypto. The bittorrent software offers BTT if users download faster from you.
