I'm looking for a proxy solution to make anonymous purchases on the web.

Am I in the right place? I read about TOR and Proxyfire.net, but was wondering if there are more solutions out there.

I understand that proxies used for purchasing is unsafe and is not recommended, but I am just wondering if there are any anonymous HTTP proxies I can get my hands on?

Any help or opinions would be appreciated.

well..what I really want to do is make a purchase using another IP addy, as to means being anonymous. Will TOR accomplish that?

I haven't tried TOR yet, I'm just looking for the best solution

Yes, TOR will accomplish your desired results. Go to a site like proxyblind.org or proxyjudge.biz to verify that you are using your proxy and not your own IP address.

    Don't use Tor
    people can sniff the data.
Further the end points of all Tor exits are owned by DoD in the US.
I donno how it can be safe, people passwords and all gets stolen at Tor.

    just use some other way.

PS- doesnt matter u use SSL or not the data can be sniffed. Don't assume everything is encrypted.
If you are going to use your own paypal or credit card then go with something else.

Even better just go to a starbucks near your house and login to their wireless and order whatever you want or Mcdonalds now a days there r lots of wireless around.
