Is too much content on a new site bad?

I have a new site that is about a week old that I am targeting for local seo. I have about 50 blog posts being written from various writers, 500-1500 words each. And plan on ordering more

My question is there anything wrong with publishing around 5 articles a day on a new site with no backlinks.

My plan is to have the 50 articles published in the next 2 weeks then start with some link building. Then continuing with 5 articles per day. Is this a good idea

If articles unique I think there is no problem
 
You should be fine.

Make sure their unique posts and make sure their not plagiarized.
 
It is not about the number of articles but the quality of articles. Quality is better than quantity. If you post a lot of low-quality content, you will lose traffic. produce high-quality unique content
 
It is not about content. IT is over all experience. How the people are doing on your website and how they are feeling but yes of course you can not post 1000 content daily with poor quality and expect great results. They have their own measurement of good site. :)
 
50 articles in 2 weeks and 5 articles is a good idea. There won't any problem. As everybody suggested, Make sure it's all have unique content. Don't over optimize with your keyword. That would result ranking issues.
 
I think experience of the user is the key, you can have really massive content on your website it's just a matter of how you introduce it to the user that visits it.

As long as you present your UI simple and intuitive and you guide the person through your content it's going to be fine and even very good as the user rather than feeling overwhelmed will appreciate the amount of content you put out there.

on the other hand if the UI is messy, not intuitive, the user doesn't really know how to start he is much more likely to quit just because of that.

I can give you another example, which is learning how to code... There is just so much things you can learn that you literally don't know what to learn... I see people often not picking it up because they are confused and feel like this is too much for them while all you need to learn is one god damn language like js and you are good to go.

So in short, make sure that you don't confuse your user with the amount of content you have.
 
The content is for my blog that is related to the niche. It is unique content written by native English speakers but I wouldn’t say it’s 10/10 content. But my main goal is to get the home page of the site ranked for my keywords. I am mostly using the blog posts to make my site not be just a few pages
 
Alert! don't do so quickly, if you want to rank for the long run then you should publish a single article every day. If the search engine understands your approach then it will be harmful to you. My recommendation is to get ready all the posts and publish 2 articles in a day and yes, do internal linking as much as you can with the relevant topics.
 
as long as it is unique and of high quality, it is OK.

Just like Big news site, tons of articles are published every single day
 
There shouldn't be any problem if articles are good quality, not c+p and are niche related (ofc if you target one niche).
 
I don't think there is something wrong with having too much content on your new site but indeed there is a big problem if u are not focusing on quality because after all reason why we create content is for people to read it , u don't want to put some crap on your site and nobody come to read it.
 
As long as it's unique quality content there shouldn't be an issue. Make sure you aren't cranking out a bunch of low-quality articles.
 
It depends entirely on quality, there is nothing wrong with posting 5 articles a day if you have unique quality content.
 
The more articles you publish the faster you get the ball rolling, this is extremly important for reducing the sandbox period. The only way you are going to rank the homepage is if you set the homepage to be a static page as you probably have an EMD.
 
Taking into account that it’s not you that’s doing all that writing, I see no problem with your approach. There’s no such thing as a penalty system for a quickly-growing site, as long as the content is good.
Professional writers (assuming that they are good) will create relevant and well-written content for you. The speed and quantity of your output shouldn’t lead to anything bad, so just keep at it.
