Just a random question,I am in my 20's right now and I felt my first 2 years went really too fast for me,and its not like I did nothing either, its really weird I remember when I was a kid 1 month would take forever to go pass and now I blink and its already 7 am and I need to go to sleep, maybe thats why I stay up alot.just a random thought, how is time passing for you?

When you're a kid, you often are exposed to new situations and stimuli, and as a result, must always determine what an appropriate response to these situations would be. As a result, you are forced to live 'in the moment' — the amount of sensory information that your brain is processing results in the illusion of time moving slower. As you grow older, you encounter new experiences less and less frequently, and can, therefore, spend much of your life reacting through learned routines or behaviors. This allows you to stop engaging quite so intensively with your current situation, resulting in both an improved ability to plan future actions, as well as the illusion of time passing faster.

Time overall definitely seems like it’s getting shorter. But, there are days when your perception of time may be affected by mood.

This.

And it depends. If you have a job or do something, you don't like, time moves slow, regardless age. You must know the feel, when you check the time frequently and you think that a lot more went by than the actual. And when you do something you like, time flies.

In the moment time can feel slow, but generally when you look back, the older you get, time seems to be moving faster and faster.

Man I'm feeling time has a turbo, I can't focus all I think about is time speed always bro

Routine, motherfucker. You do the same shit over and over and over again. Same places, same people, same work, same actions, etc. It all blends together.

Your brain gets used to the unchanging environment, and you go into "automatic mode." You go through the motions. You insulate yourself in your little homeostatic bubble, and time just flies by while your brain is on low-power mode.

Change shit up. Do new things. Meet new people. Whatever, because it's going to keep on getting faster. Soon you'll be 60 and asking "where did the time go?" Down the drain, motherfucker.

I am also in my 20's and I would agree. School doesn't help our cause either. When you're stuck sitting at a desk 8 hours a day and staring at a board it feels like forever. Now that I am an adult sometimes I have to stop myself for a minute and think "How is it January already???"

Lately I've been getting neurotic about tracking my time. I'm not terrified about getting older. I am terrified about getting older and not being where I want to be.

I mean i just had some edibles, but ya im 26 working fulltime and life seems to be zooming past me

It won't get better, sorry kiddo.

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: Totally agree OP. 20s though? I’m 37 next week so I’d love to be in my 20s.

my advise to you is just make the most of your life - live every day to the max. Decide on your own moral code and stick to it whilst having as much fun and enjoyment as possible.

also, try to mix in things that only reap long term rewards - they’re the hardest things to do when you’re young, in my opinion, but when they come to fruition they’re absolutely priceless.

i love to move fast as much possible. so try to move fast
