Is TikTok True Content?

Hey guys,

I might be getting old and grumpy but whenever I get on TikTok too kill some time I see these kids for the most part that sit in front of a digital green screen and either point their finger at some direction, shake their head and then some random video plays like "most emotional twitch moment" and then a twitch clip plays.

I am truly wondering do those people consider themselves content creators? influencers? etc?
I mean don't want to rain on their parade - they are getting stuuuuupid numbers, just wanted to get your all thoughts.

Do agree/disagree or I am just too old to like that.

Don't get me wrong there is a fair share of great content creators on the platform, I am only talking about above mentioned ones.

I wouldn't consider that original content, as anyone else wouldn't. It's an easy way to get reactions but, there's actual original content on TikTok, that's for sure.

And it's pretty cool, honestly. Well, at least it was a few years back when I was addicted to the app.

Yes, they consider themselves content creators and it's completely understanble, they just have to look good, learn the the trending dance of the day and they will have 300-500k followers, then will convert 250k to their Ig, 100k to their youtube and earn crazy numbers (and will eventually end up posting vlogs..)

Once again, I did not say people who do dances, please read the original post. Dancing is a skill, which I consider to be content, I am talking about individuals who are in front of digital green screen and point before a VOD plays. Please explain how do you consider that "content".

I'd consider it the lowest form of being a creator or influencer. Its really just meant to grab attention.

Avoid them, you cannot change the world alone.

It depends on the person. Most people have no zeal to create content. They only have a desire to make money. Most of them first do it for fun, then they see the numbers and go make money. That, too, is commendable.
