is TikTok cracking down on unoriginal content (again)? Overlay method no longer effective?

Long story short, over the last few months I have been reposting Tiktoks on over 100+ accounts by using the overlay method.
If you're reading this thread I assume you already know what the overlay method is, so I'm not going to explain it.

The bad accounts would still get up to maybe 500 views on at least one video (Which I would scrap after 6 TikToks)
Most accounts consistently hit over 1000 views on each video.
And a few accounts would have a couple of viral videos with 150k+ views

Across all videos, including majority of those from the underperforming accounts, we managed to dodge the dreaded "Not eligible for the For You Feed" message.

However, a few weeks ago we started to see a big change. It's now quite uncommon for our accounts to get more than 700 views on a video. The ''Not eligible for the For You Feed" message now seems to appear on pretty much all videos after 1-2 mins of posting.

I can't imagine that the sudden change is anything to do with my setup (SIM, Proxy etc) which leads me to believe it's most likely a result of a TikTok update aimed at crackdown on unoriginal content.

I'm curious to know if others who repost TikToks have also noticed this change. Those who specifically use the overlay method or any other reposting methods (editing bots, capcut method etc)

I have noticed myself that if you dodge the not eligible for FYP it does not always means that your content was not flagged, they probably have some other detections that we don't see , well of course its purely speculative, I dont know for sure, but I myself have noticed a decrease in views on reproduced content, so I have been testing new methods on how to repurpose it.

Yeh the more that I test and research into it, the more I believe that TikTok has changed something in regards to detecting unoriginal content. At the moment I am only able to achieve 1000k+ views and avoid the 'not eligible' message on videos that I have heavily edited.

I definitely noticed a shift on the platform too. Reposting used to be a decent strategy, but lately, it feels like TikTok is getting way stricter about unoriginal content. That "Not eligible for FYP" message after a minute is brutal. I used to run a bunch of accounts with the overlay method myself (you're not alone), and getting decent views was pretty consistent. Now, it's like crickets after posting.

anyone came up with any solutions, im making original content, reddit/minecraft content and cant seem to get it to work at all, testing diffrent backrounds/diffrent sounds/diffrent voices and nada

I have tried a few different techniques including using a camera spoofer to record the Tiktok in app (sort of like the overlay method but better) but no luck. I am quite confident that it is some sort of AI tool that can easily detect repurposed content through the appearance of the TikTok, meaning that no matter what repurposing technique is used unless the TikTok is ''different in looks'' then it will always get flagged.

I agree with you, but with proper editing you shouldn't have problems.

Hey, have you tried mirroring the video + rotation etc?

I have been having the same problem for about 1 month now. Nothing is working to fix it at the moment.

most platforms are cracking down on spam and AI junk content

I think they are making massive changes to the ranking algorithm after the pressure from getting banned in the USA.

Are you wiping or editing the video / meta data first before reposting?

Maybe o'm way of the mark here as i'm not certain what the overlay method is but if i had to guess i'd say it has something to do with combing original content [short clip recorded on the device, filters, etc] with repurposed content.

to repost TikToks, wiping / changing meta first was a key step.. maybe this tip helps some if not relevant to the posted problem.

I suggest abandoning the previous methods and adopting deep mashups to create movie and celebrity-type videos, or consider producing original videos. Repurposing commentary videos with unique edits is also a good approach. The method of stitching two videos together has been phased out, and the content update at the beginning of this month is strictly cracking down on this practice

How are you configuring your 'camera spoofer' @sjofm ? And what overlay method you using?

Hi there!

I’m very new to the TikTok journey so any help is greatly appreciated!

I recently saw some really big accounts that basically just re-post girls dancing, for example: TrapNation & technoblazers.
However when I reuse video of a girl dancing it always gets zero views.

I have tried many different things like editing metadata, cropping videos, editing brightness/hue, adding captions & watermarks and many more. Nothing works.
I even wrote a code to mass edit videos in bulk (all of the actions I named above). I’m super willing to share that code if anyone is interested and can help me with this matter.

If I tried it with 5-10 videos and all get zero views should I just delete the account and try again because it doesn’t make sense anymore since I'm already in Shadowban?

Thanks & Best,
Musiclover

You do realise tiktoks two major strengths are:

I don't blame tiktok from cracking down on this method, I ruins it for everyone, the point was for you to reach a high level of views then stick to that 1 account and create great quality content not abuse system for future bhs.

Anyways as I stated the two exceptional reasons to use tiktok is retention in the first hour or so, it gets to the from page and if people comment based on tags you have a idea what works,

And the same for live streaming but I assume you would abuse those two opportunities also.

The goals to get your content out there buried under millions of people and if exploiting is one way so be it, but if you expect to funnel 100 accounts and keep the low quality trend going for weeks even if you surpass 100.000, and still get greedy hen that's on you.

Greedy people deserve such systems corrected, because those who truly know loopholes keep such things a secret.
