Is tiered link building still a good strategy?

Been learning lots about link building in the past few days seeing as I now have my hands on some good software. My question is, is doing tiered link building still a good way to go, combined with pbns? I was looking at setting up some expired Web 2.0 then doing some gsa ser on them

Yes, it still works. The problem is that seeing results takes much longer these days. If you plan to do quality tier 1 links, no need to spam them with GSA.
 
Yes it works, but ensure you know how to use any software correctly or you'll do more harm than good.
 
Personally I had better results with moneysite-webs-webs-gsa (or any similar) than with moneysite-webs-gsa

Yes, it's Good Strategy Forever tier link building's but you have to use the software in unique way :)

Tiered link building has been used as a practice to manipulate back links and increase higher rankings,basically means you are building links from a variety of sources to your website,where contribute content to higher ranking sites to bring attention and use comments and forums as a secondary tier to your contributed content which then follows a strategy to build authority to your site.
 
Why tho?
I don't see why would beginners even consider doing such an outdated tactic (which could work), but when PBNs are easy to make/get for everyone, why would you even bother?

@Shaunm has a Journey thread where he tries to rank some websites using tiered linkbuilding. He is super open about everything he does, what seems to be working and what doesn't. In his website there are also some good tutorials and case studies about GSA: http://shaunmarrs.com/

I don't do tiered linkbuilding anymore. I used to, a few years ago, when it was quite easy to rank parasites using ultimate demon, and the idea I got by reading what shaunm or @aidenhera say lately is that it has gotten a lot more difficult since all the penguins, and specifically since penguin was made a part of the algorithm. But don't let that scare you, the fact that it has gotten more complicated also means there is less competition doing that!

they read to much seogurublogbullshit. thats why.
ant there aint much "affiliate commission" on buying expired domains. you know.
 
I always build T2/3/4+ to any T1 link that isn't a PBN or Guest Post. It's incredibly cost-effective, and as long as you don't shit-blast the T1 links, they'll be fine - so why the fuck not?

I agreed, they all want you to believe them so they get a commision. Of course there are exceptions. However in SEO you will usually only get the basics from other people blogs/websites simply because spreading working methods with detailed guide is not profitable for them and will only make the methods more saturated
 
Of course, Tiered link building is one of the most effective methods in link building. Google has made tiered link building much less effective as it was practiced in the past, even with all the updates from google that can still boost your rankings if you use it correctly or you'll end up with no result.

Thanks for the links, interesting stuff :) I'm still working on my PBN right now (currently building out the 4th site), but I will take a look at this method of link building afterwards. I already have a few dozen tier 1 from press releases and some services here which provided Web 2.0 etc, so I will look at boosting them with tier 2
 
see you soo when you built so many craplinks that you need software to manage them again..
 
Yes, it works great if you use all unique content / SEO descriptions and Titles. Highly recommended for Bing Optimization.
