Is it true that you can get decent ranking without off site seo, but just with on site seo and writing articles for those keywords once per day.

Cause i did it, i mean i have like 50 backlinks pr 0 and i have decent ranking. Is this luck or

For anything competitive (ie with decent traffic) you'll need some inbound links. Content only gets you so far - you need to get out there and promote it too.

well I got 5 geo trageted sites and Im ranking them all top 5 with about 20 BL, it depends on the keyword, some ky u can rank with pretty much nothing, take "vinawhdjwawdaioud" for example ;p

What kind of backlinks did you end up getting? Did you actually place them yourself or did visitors to your site link back to you? Either way, 50 backlinks counts as off site SEO.

All depends of your keyword. Use yahoo site explorer to find how many back links your competitor is having. If all your competitor is having 0 back links. Then you may rank well only with onsite SEO and content.
Any how, getting back links is not a tough job, you would have created one while typing this thread. ( no offence )

The thing is competitors had many backlinks. And my main question is does your ranking improve over time, with just posting articles? that u write.

i was doign it for 2 months and it turned out pretty well

Writing articles for your own site in itself won't really improve ranking except in tiny, uncompetitive niches.

You don't describe what your current backlinks are like, but if you have 50 backlinks, that sounds like either people have linked to your content voluntarily, or they have scraped and republished your posts that have links back to your site.

It's those backlinks combined with your content that is getting you the results you're getting - not just the content on its own.

Tanks, but i guess than writing articles and pinging an website everytime i make an new post doesnt really improve in rankings over time?

Pinging the site lets Google know that there is fresh content, which it likes. However, I have a feeling that the backlinks are helping more. I'd say it's at least a 51% to 49% ratio. =P
