Is this the "basic" idea for blogging with SEO?

I am not really a newbie when it comes to blogging. But I am a complete newbie when it comes to making a "successful" Blog. I created 3 blogs over the past 6 years and I never could really do something with them. The most success I had was getting 18 viewers in a month in 2017 lol. Back then it was just "Create a website, find something that is being hyped, post article, done" I have done some research over the past few weeks in this forum and it seems like my approach back then was not really wrong. I just didn't know how get people to come to my blog . So I think that the steps for blogging would be something like the following?

1.Create a Blog for a niche
2.Write articles with the help of SEO
3.Get Backlinks for the Blog
4.Monetize the website

Yeah, that's the general outline, but it's a lot easier said than done. You can enumerate the steps, but you also need to know how to accomplish those individual steps.

Yes, this is the basic idea, but there is more to it. You need to constantly publish new content. Not just any content but something worthy of reading. Also, promoting your articles in places where your audience is (Facebook groups, Reddit, niche forums, Quora, etc.) is crucial.

In a nutshell, yes it is how you make a blog. Consistency is what drives traffic. If you stop in between, you are not going to gain good traffic.
