If we're talking about DigitalOcean, I've been using them about an year ago (or a bit more) for a funny viral website and it held about 12k-20k traffic per day. It would sometimes crash during spikes, but it was ok overall.
How many plugins are you running on each?

I must suggest you to go for 1 GB Ram, since you are going to host 6 Word press website. Apart from this the system requirement for hosting a word press site is also depend on the traffic and the no of plugins you used in the Wordpress site.

This* When I was using DO, the biggest problem was RAM. I later upgraded to the $20/month pack. It was worth it at that point.
