Is this spamming? HELP ME GUYS! PARANOID!

ha well im promoting an adult affiliate link through myspace in my about me, the link is not clickable so anyone who goes to the site has to C/P or type in the URL to get to my affiliate page.. My question is this..

I dont add friends, they come to me, when they request me, they willingly do so on their own terms. Now when I get a request, i normally send out about 200 comments estimated per day saying "thanks for the add"

Is that spamming? What do you guys consider being on the safe side on myspace? how many comments/messages would be consider safe? what is consider too many? please help me ASAP!

it all depends myspace changes its rules like an average person changes their knickers (i said average okay)....

200 should be fine.... enjoy the money while its there and allways have a backup is the best option... maybe make 2 accounts and get double the income

do you think I should get a proxy to hide my IP? make it anonymous? thanks so much for your reply, i really appreciate it..

Yes, under CAN-SPAM, you are sending unsolicited bulk email.

Now, what you can do is ask them in an email(Oddly enough!) if they would like to receive emails from you and then re-verify positive responses.

Keep the emails as you are creating your own double-opt-in list.

Create an "Opt-out" link included in your emails to them as well.

Trust me on this one.

If they added you as a friend and your just sending out thanks for the add I don't think you have anything to worry about. But if you want to be on the safe side follow Uptownbulker's advice

uptown, i am not using the myspace message to send messages,i am just commenting back saying "thx for the add" is that bad? or were you just talkin about bulk messages?

Spam has to be commercial in nature. Saying "Thanks for the friend add" is not spamming.

The people who got sued by my*pace were CPA networks profiting from people phishing accounts and setting up bots that spammed hundreds of thousands a day. So I would say it is very unlikely that you will get sued for sending a few hundred comments a day.

You may want to hide you IP address because it is much more likely that if they wanted to do something to you they would block it, or complain to your ISP. Also they could follow your aff link and threaten the program you promote for so they drop you.

I think those should be your realistic worries.
