Is this site legit or not?

So I found a site on Flippa by a completely new seller, he's verified I think. It is one of those Twitter follower sites... anyways it has been registered since May of this year so his claim of 4 months is correct. But, he is claiming of $500/mo revenue (at least in July.) I have talked to the guy and he has said he has spent no money on advertising and when I asked if he had any analytics on the traffic he said he hadn't. He has a Paypal screenshot of his earnings which match up to the prices but I'm not sure if it's legit or not.

Anyway , "Not having analytics on the site" SCAM, how the hell will you know the visits if there is no analytics
also paypal screenshots can be fake, tell him to use teamviewer to see, and if you enter , click on his paypal homepage to see if there is some modifications, cause there are some codes that allow to edit a page online

You'll find he is also including any off site sales. So for example a lot of people make a site but then sell the packages on fiverr, twitter, craigslist, to friends etc ... but they are not sold via the website. It's something a lot are doing now.
 
Most definitely a scam. And you have no idea if screenshots are legit or not. Do you have any idea how easy it is to fake a screenshot with Inspect Element? Many sites that claim to be making over $100/month on Flippa, aren't.
 
Found the listing. I've noticed those sites are selling fairly frequently these days. Like Darren9682 already mentioned, I'm sure sales are from some off site source. I'd be asking about where/how he's advertising but without traffic stats, it's all just smoke and mirrors.
 
Yeah, it's a fairly common scam tactic:

1) Set up a legitimate site

2) Have the site make some revenue (either through paid ads, off site sales or by any other means)

3) Start setting up clones of that site, say that you forgot to install analytics and when asked to prove revenue, show the revenue that the main site generated.

4) When Flippa account gets suspended, open a new one and start over.

It's a shame so many people are still falling for this, though.
 
It can be done, its no secret. u just have to have some skills on many things, or hire the right one. And there are a lot of good people to work with. 500 aint much. I know companies making 500k sales in first month (no twitter stuff though )
But u must invest some few 1000 for any good project.. also check out some legal stuff (also outsource?) many good one;s on the forum here

And analytics well.. personally i rather have my own server stats.. not depending on javascript or some like that..

Assuming no paid traffic is involved, it can only get free traffic than, right?
Check how the site is ranking for the main keywords. Just register a free account on serpfox, you can add 10 keywords quickly.
If you can't find it nowhere in top 10, it's probable not getting much organic traffic. So, how would it sell any service than?
 
MAN ! i have a website with 1 million visitors a month, i'm currently making around 5000 EUR a month with that ! traffic is from diffrent sources but sorry i don't any have any proof for you. but if you want i can sell it for... mmm let say around 5000 eur ok? don't be fucked by scammers, protect yourself....
