Is this risky or not? (PBN)

In June, I created a website for launch jacking and used some of my PBN to rank the site.

I wouldn't normally use PBN link juice on a launch jacking campaign, but I got a bit carried away, as it was the first IM product I had ever promoted actually.

The launch jack WAS very successful and now I'm left with a website with decent domain authority (28) and page authority (36)

But since the campaign is over and this site doesn't have much value anymore, I wanted to add a home page post that links to another one of my money sites, and basically this site becomes part of my PBN at that point.

Now here is where I'm wondering about possible risk:

The launch jacking site has backlinks from my PBN.

And the money site I was thinking about linking to ALSO has backlinks from some of the SAME PBN sites.

So if Site A is getting links from 3 sites

And Site B is geting links from 2 of those 3 sites

Then Site A links to Site B...

Will this leave too much of a footprint and/or lead to penalty?

Actually, I know for a fact that I would be leaving a footprint if I did this, so I guess the question REALLY is...

Does G00gle even CARE about small PBN's???

I was basically thinking along the lines of I would have to be VERY unlucky if my entire PBN <15 sites was actually penalized because 2 relatively small sites used the same PBN links and then one of those small sites linked to the other.

To answer your questions

1. Do search engines care about small PBNs - of course they do. They care about all methods to manipulate rankings.
2. Can they find my little PBN - Maybe they don't have the capability to detect it right now, maybe they do. The only thing certain is that in the future as their software gets better, the surely will be capable of detecting a foot print.

So the main question to ask yourself is - is it worth it to leave a footprint? The answer is almost all cases is a resounding "No". You have put in so much effort into creating your PBN and no doubt will put in more effort to create more. Why risk letting all that effort go to waste just for the benefit of linking a site A to a site B.

There's an obvious footprint in what you are about to do, and Google would deindex your PBN domains without hesitation if they discovered it, small or big.

Avoid linking to your money sites from domains in your PBNs bolstered by other domains in your PBN. Don't even add domains to your PBN that have backlinks from sites in the same network.

What do you mean "PBN"? PBN can be referred as "PUBLIC" Blog Network and also "PRIVATE" Blog Network.

If Public Network Network, there is possibility in having the footprint.

If Private Blog Network, it should not leave the footprint. Yes, there is not easy to find reliable Private Blog Network(s).

I realize the answer to my question was painfully obvious and I knew it would leave an obvious footprint as well.

But, for whatever reason, there is a common feeling I've observed that "Google doesn't care about small PBNs in the first place" and I'm sure most of you know what I'm talking about because there are always people in that camp.

Could hiding your pbn from bots also be seen as a footprint? since everyone is doing this nowdays...

Google care about all PBNs whether large or small, and they usually deindex disproportionately.

Google targets pbn's with an algorithm so it doesn't matter if you have a lot of sites or just a few. Make sure you don't have a footprint and you should be ok

Don't use SEOhosts.... No matter what crap they promise you. Google has been targeting SEO host services with their whois algo.

Are you sure? I know some adult webmasters using SEO Host and rank very well.

If the links are shitty, it does not matter if they are from a PBN or a regular blog. For example I can leave a spammy comment and get a penalty, I can buy a link from huffington blogpost with a keyword in anchor and get a penalty or I can buy same links from PBN. Only quality and natural linkflow matters

I hope you stayed true to your own saying - "better safe than sorry" - and stayed away from making it a part of the PBN.

For a few dollars, you could get a different site. Why risk your existing PBN?

If you really don't care for the site any more, sell it off, and buy a similarly valuable site with the money. That way, you pay nothing, get a good site into your PBN and still leave no footprint!

How do you avoid a foot print? If the traffic from the PBN is NOT sent directly to the money site is that good enough?. I intend to use link juice from PBN

make your pbn seem as natural as possible, dont use same themes, plugins, etc for all your pbn. Put decent effort on your site looks in case they got manually reviewed.
