How do you guys think an animal-centered website would fare?

For example, one dedicated to training pit bulls that also features reviews of food/toys/services to keep it populated (and possibly bring in a little more traffic)? When I put "pit bulls" into Google Keyword Planner it said it had an average of 33k searches and low competition, wouldn't that be considered decent? I'm still pretty new to IM so I'm not too sure about these things lol. The suggested bids for Google's recommended keywords are on average $1.5-2.5, and all are low competition.

This worth a shot?

I don't know what you are searching but Pit bulls is quite high competition.. I looked it up on ahrefs and these are the results. Your tool is probably broken.

Here's an idea for you, read the forums and find some good keyword planner tools, use them to find a good niche with low competition, then make your website and try out your niche. Domain cost $1, get word press put some work in and see how it goes. If no traffic pull out and try a new niche.

Oh, and don't post things like 'is this a good niche to go for?' cos it it is you've just opened it up for the pro's who will knock up sites in a day and your niche will then be saturated and not a good niche before you even decide on a domain name. So no, if it was a good niche it isn't now ;-)

Just do it. In IM you really don't know until you do.
 
If you're new to IM, try an easier keyword first. Pet niche is heavy duty SEO.
 
You can go with anything in IM if you are confident that you can break it. However, in IM it's action is better than confusion so just hit it up. And yeah, don't reveal your niche publicly...
