Is this local SEO citation strategy legitimate?

I was wondering. Let's say I want to rank for hotels in los angeles california. I start with the obvious:

create losangeleshotels.com
create landing pages for each hotel based on area
example page: losangeleshotels.com/ritz-carlton
on this page, I'm going to put lots of content, including a google map with phone and address

My question is: can i build local citations to this page? I have an address and phone number on the page. Sure I will be ranking directly with https://www.ritzcarlton.com/en/hotels/california/marina-del-rey but will Google reward my page with at least a top 5 ranking by recognizing the local links that I build? Or will I have to rely on standard high DA or PBN links in order to rank.

ehh not an expert on this but i think google is more about context than raw power nowadays. of course both matter, but local citations + good onpage seo + completing the social media bingo + surpassing the competition in content is probably cheaper and more stable in the long run. before you commit to all the steps make sure to study the link profile of the guys ranking. seriously ask yourself if you can actually do better.

There is nothing written on stone with seo and specially with google recent updates, I recommend you to try it but do not leave behind the second option work on it little by little and prioritize one

I’d expect it to have some positive impact. I don’t think it could hurt, definitely worth a try. Local citations are cheap and seem to help a bit even for affiliate sites that aren’t local at all.
