I am thinking of buying .ae (Domain extention of my country) with the name of the company I work with.
I want to send an email then that some competitor is redirecting the domain to their website and they can buy it for an X amount.

Is this LEGAL?

Never bite the hand that feeds you. Doing a shakedown on the company you work for will not end well for you. Hopefully you have another job lined up that doesn't check references from the previous employer. You're trying to defraud the company you work for by posing as their competitor. Hopefully they communicate with their competitors like most good businesses do and discover the competitor has nothing to do with this. Then you're the only other person that knows so guess who is trying to rip them off? There is a reason you're the employee and they're the employer; they're not half as stupid as you believe they are.

mmmm, it may be legal depending on the country, but it seems unethical and probably isn't worth the risk. You could lose your job, trash your reputation AND maybe end up in court for extortion or deceptive conduct.

There are safer and easier ways to make money from domain names. If you can register .ae domains, try to find some old domains that may have decent Pagerank and bring them back to life with a view to selling links.
