Altough most of the results are authority websites, none of them has good on page optimization. Can you please tell me a range of the number of backlinks, if I have a litle bit of every type, I would need to have in order to rank top 3#?

Thanks a lot

You seems to be targeting a generic shopping related keyword. As you can see, all the sites ranking are high authority root domains which holds strong position despite have poor on-site SEO. Not an easy task to rank in my opinion. Analyze the site #9 which seems to be new domain when compared to others. Check the domain age and backlinks. You may get an idea how many days and link types you need to reach there.

Just looking at the amount of red i would say stay away from it. Remember the better the keyword research the faster the ranking.

The BLPs of those 10 is too damn high.

Thanks for all responses, I think I found a better one:

This seems to be good to go. Can reach first page easily with EMD but again moving further to #1 may take some time as you are competing against authority sites.

It is not worth taking this keyword, unless it has more than 10,000 exact searches and you are happy with 7-8 position, which will bring max 2000 visitors per month from search.

@Cyber
Do domain backlinks matter that much?
Do you think I should look for other keyword then? My goal is not to make much profit yet, I was looking to monetize with affiliate marketing + adsense, if I could make enough money to even out what I will use in hosting + seo I would be happy.

@4trusted
Are you talking about the first keyword, the second or both?

I am actually ranking for a very similiar keyword. Your market samurai seems analysis pretty much like the one that I have for mine :-), so I may say a lill bit about it.

I started with a MNS in this niche 3 months ago. Since then I have built 2000 backlinks according to webmaster tools and have established pr 3. This has taken me now at position #10 for this keyword. I am not very skilled in SEO, yet but I begin to get a feeling for it.

I would definately go for it if it's a high traffic keyword or something with a good CTR. Seems like you want to learn SEO like me and doing so at a keyword with NO competition at all shows nothing.. I mean you could build 200 bookmarks to your page and if your competitior has 40 backlinks in total you will be 1#. You learn just nothing from that.

Your competition has authority, bad onpage SEO, search-engine-unfriendly-urls and very little backlinks. The #10 one seems to have absolutely garbage links at his ranking page, else he would have been ranked much higher. Further more you could have a kickstart if you manage to get a link at the yahoo answers page at #6.

best wishes,
whery

PS.: Don't post show urls in your screenshots if you have found a niche that you really want to monetize later. If you show the urls, it's pretty easy to know which keyword you are trying to rank for. Oh and I have spoken about this one :_) http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/8473/capturewgh.jpg
