While I'm not new to IM, I am still a novice. I've made ~$500 since 2003 mostly through adsense on a forum site I built. I've tried other methods with little or no success. I attribute that to lack of experience and trying methods that were out dated.

I've been earning about $1/day from a legitimate youtube channel for the last year. I spend the time to make original content, but as I'm sure you know it takes a lot of effort to do this. I'm still trying to learn the ropes of growing a subscriber base. I found reddit recently and after 1 post I gained +100 subs which is nice. So I think I'm on the right track there.

Anyway, that is is my white hat setup. I explain it because it's relevant to my black hat idea. The content I create is geared toward a niche. Within that niche are micro niches. I wanted to take advantage of the traffic and momentum of the interest behind the micro niches by building out a informational sites full of youtube videos and content from forums. All of the data would be scraped, but organized using a specific outline. The sites would be of use to users, but they would simply be auto-generated sites full of unoriginal content. I would monetize using adsense and maybe adfly.

Unfortunately this particular niche doesn't have any 3rd party products to push from CB or CJ. It's basically consumption of information. What people are looking for is a specific arrangement of that information that they can consume for free. I would follow the structure of a popular paid site which has original content and mimic using youtube content.

Is this an idea worth pursuing or is it an out dated concept? If so, are there any considerations I should be aware of? I appreciate any feedback.

Mentorship is against the rules of this forum.

One piece of advice though, you say no products are available in CB and CJ for your niche. How about creating one? It is information and nothing sells better than information packages. An ebook is almost free to produce and publish. You can promote it on your site as well.

Sorry, I didn't see anything in there about it.

Would I do this with my own content or using scraped content?

The aim is to provide quality. You can scrape, but ensure that it's rewritten in a way to capture your audience. You can outsource freelancers to do this for you on sites like Fiverr .

you are basically talking about a sort of aggregator, i've seend a couple around, getting information from different sources on a niche or a subject, some are doing really well, if you start promoting it a little it should work
