So I know a site where the guy some pretty decent business in web design. The site states that it is all HTML5 clean code blah blah blah. But it smells like wordpress to me, sure the sites look simple and efficient but I just wanted to know if he used wordpress or something like that? Because he is charging some pretty high fees for what he delivers. All feedback is appreciated!

And what do you think Wordpress themes are made from? Pasta? :o What you see in your browser is always some flavor of HTML + CSS + Javascript :)

Wordpress/Joomla et al are frameworks that contain front-end & back-end functionality in one package. "Clean design" is a specific design style and has to do with ... you guessed it ... design :)

A lot of design companies are using this same tactic. Works well since most customers would not know that they are getting free or low cost themes that have had some minor custom work.

A big thank you to everyone who took the time to reply!
