    I inquired about a domain, here is the email responses from that inquiry. I am just wondering if it is just me that think his price is extremely insanse!!!!

    techtools.com does sound like a good domain though, but his price is him letting you he doesn't want to let it go but hoping someone nutts would want it at that price. what i think anyway.

    50K maybe is too much but it can be an amazing branded domain/company name.
    5-6K is justified. I think.

    To be perfectly honest, I would do (and have in fact done) exactly the same if I didn't want to sell the domain.

    Just the other day someone emailed me asking if I want to sell them a website that I had actually just started and have rather big plans with. Instead of telling them no, I came up with a (ridiculous) price and quoted it. The reason behind it is simple - you never know how big plans the other party has for this particular domain/site and if they're willing to pay you an amount that would make you happy regardless of your existing plans then why not give it a go.

    So yeah, it actually makes perfect sense.
