Is this guy bsing?

I asked a few people who did work in these fields and they basically told me he was talking out of his a**.

Here's what happened: I set up a page for likes on one of those vote requests for a contest. This idiot comes along and makes a facebook just to comment (which leads me to believe it's just someone trying to screw me out of the contest), posts the link and says "you're getting so many votes because you posted it here: " and linked it. He claims he got my IP from the username on the vote request page, which...seems like total bs.

What do you think?

Here's what he said: Because of my work, I am able to trace exactly how many votes came from that link as well as the IP address of the person who posted on that website.

I asked, he couldn't come up with an answer all three times I poked at it. Is this possible?

Well i really doubt he got your ip or anything like that , Atleast not because hes work, did the place he linked have anything to do with you ? If it did , did you use same username or something that can connect you. I would just ignore him.
