I have a web site that I use just to play around. The site is 3 years old and is currently PR 2. Over the last 3 months, I created around 1000 total backlinks spread over time. I copied and spun 30 articles over 3 months. The site was getting around 20-25 uniques per day.

2 days ago my google traffic just stopped.

The site is still showing up when I google site:www.mydomain.com
The site is still showing up when I google "some text that appears on my site"

I don't rank anywhere for the 5 keywords that I used to.

Is this the google dance? Will this come back with time? I'm really not that worried, as it's just a junk site that I play around with and learn from.

Use http://www.scroogle.org, and see where you rank for those keywords. The key benefit is that if you're ranked but not in the first few pages you can search through rankings by 100 results at a time.

Well, I did find me in 1 results in scroogle. So I guess I'm not completely out. But things I was previously on the first page for I'm not in even out to 1,000 results.

I logged in to Googles webmaster tools. Everything looks just fine in there.

Is this the Google dance though? Sites still indexed, but not showing in serps where you previously were?

yeah if your still in their for searching for your somain then your fine

give it up to two weeks and you should be back there higher than before hopefully

cool. thanks guys :)

I figured it was, just making sure.

Woohoo! Getting google traffic again.

For anybody that has the same problem and is using this thread as a resource, my site was doing the "google dance" for 7 days total. No traffic at all from google....but site still indexed. Didnt do anything, and back to getting traffic.

My guess would be your content isn't all that good. A handful of spun articles isn't really anything outstanding to rank with. How are your keyword densities?

The content and keyword density is good. As I stated before, there's years worth of pages and articles there that's original content and ranks well. The last 3 months I added a few new articles that are spun.

And also, like I said, I'm already back in the ranks.
