Click on Avg. Position, then sort the impression column by high to low, now you will where are the impression coming from and you're avg ranking on that keyword.

Now just try to do some link building and try to rank those keywords.

(not every keyword, use make sence rule)

It depends on where your impressions are coming from exactly.

Given there aren’t any clicks, but a lot of impressions, I’d say you’re within the top 10 pages for a few key terms related to your articles main keyword topic.

It’s not good or bad, it’s essentially progress. Click on average position, take the terms that show up when you scroll down, and check them in a separate browser to see where you actually stand with those keywords.

If you’re within the top 5 pages, go to ahrefs or Keysearch (whichever keyword research tool you’re using), and check the search volume and the competition. If the keywords are worth it, start targeting them and make an attempt to push towards page 1.

Youll start seeing clicks soon enough.

Sometimes Google puts you for a very powerful keyword on the top and suddenly you get a whole ton of impressions but for a keyword that is very unlikely you may get clicks

For example I have a domain called adaptingpower and for some strange reason I got in the first week like 1K impressions for the query "adapt". Obviously a blog 100% unrelated to "adapt". This kind of trials is what people call the "Google Sandbox"

You might find this out in the bottom which keywords are driving such impressions and see if they make sense with your content.

Hi thanks for all the info. The keywords match with my primary long tail keywords for a few articles. Also checked on arrives they have a decent search vol and competition is less. Had done keywords research to pick out the long tail keywords. Thanks once again

I get what you mean. The keywords am getting impressions from are long tail keywords am targeting and they match my article. I'll try build some links and push them to the top as others suggested. Thanks

30-40 Impressions for 12 articles are very less. As the average position suggests you are on page 8-10. Unless you come to page 1-3 you will not get any clicks. Your goal should be to improve your rankings for target keyword that could only happen with Link Building and making your website more authoritative. Also, content plays a lot bigger role, you need to churn out more content and you will get clear picture when you have more than 100 post on your blog.
Another thing is if you are using a new domain then Google will not let you rank so easily even for low difficulty keyword even if you do Link building (but it depends).

Content length means nothing if you can´t fulfill the user´s search intent.

This should be your main focus.

I´ve seen articles with less than 1,000 words outrank articles twice as long.

I know you mention the articles are getting a 70-85 score in Rank Math so, so I am guessing they are somewhat optimized as per on-page best practices, your issue must be either...
  • You´re not yet out of Google´s sandbox
    • You need to write a hell lot more articles in order to build topical relevance and, therefore, improve your site´s authority on the topic
  • Make sure your site is fully optimized from a technical perspective
  • Make sure your site´s structure is optimized
I hope this helps, cheers!

Well, at least you're getting impressions.

And you have to understand that your metric for content consumption success differs from ad click or ad engagement success metrics.

Don't confuse the two.

Based on what stats you've shown, it seems that you're making decent but erratic progress that there's a big dip and impressions.

I would suggest that you focus on identifying your most successful pieces of content, these are the ones that get the most engagement.

They're the ones who get the most impressions.

Focus on their topics.

And try to create more content that is closely related to those successful pages.

Link from those top pages to your newer content on similar topics, using calls to action.

Don't just use a keyword anchor.

That's not enough.

You have to call them to action.

The impression that you're trying to create is that the new page that they're going to be clicking to is an extension of the content that they are reading.

So don't worry about clicks just yet.

Focus more on impressions.

Get people to explode your page views and then, later on, you can start strategizing about ad clicks.

What about the positions in SERP? If it is the 4th or 5th page you are on the right hand.
