The only way to "defeat" them is to take large amounts of money and work out of the UK and US and send it to some Eastern Europe countries. Make it so that the UK government is begging for loans from Romania. Of course this would require corporate raiding and around 2 decades to do with a large group.

It will only be a matter of time before it spreads. The UK and US will put pressure on other countries to tow the line. I'm English, but I live in mainland Europe and I got a warning from the police come on my screen the other month when I went tried to visit The Pirate Bay. It looks like it's going to be all over soon. Scary.

Yes but most people will just carry on as normal, maybe complain a little, then do nothing.
