Is this for real when it comes to Scrapebox proxies

Last night i tried to get some free public proxies so i could do a little bit of harvesting.
What i did was i used the scrapebox own harvesting for proxies, and i harvested from around 20 sources that were include already.

i had around 30k proxies and of them (i did'nt finish harvesting because it took me hours and hours, 1 day to be exact.) only 10 were passing google pass. WTF.

i am planning to buy 10 semi dedicated proxies from buyproxies and that only for posting because i want a high success rate.
But here is the problem i cant finde around 300 free public proxies to use for harvesting.

and to be honest i don't know wich settings are what when it comes to scrapebox like wich are the best settng to harvest and post.

i need help.

what do i do?

how long does it take you to harevst proxies and test them and then harvest urls and make a comment?

Ok, take a deep breath.

I run ten proxies per thread (yup 10 per thread)
Back in the day you could have reversed that 10 threads per proxy worked in 2009.
Some get away with les..but that's what I go with.
20 threads - 200 proxies.

However, even ONE thread can scrape you hundreds of thousands of URL's a day.
Best way to use SB for serious scraping is to install it on a VPS or server and let it run 24/7.
VPS's that can run it start at under $30 a month all in. As much as you can chew bandwidth and no electricity bill for that price.

Worth considering.

I would keep those 10 semi dedicated proxies for posting and just that. What you need is a bunch of new sources for proxies. The default ones are obviously used and abused beyond belief. Go do some googling for fresh updated proxy lists and add those websites as sources to the proxy harvester. Also if your computer can handle it, turn up the number of connections for the proxy tester in Scrapebox settings. I run on a strong internet connection and very strong computer and have no problem. With 200 threads (or connections) when testing proxies the whole process takes a lot less time!

yeah, the default SB sources for proxies are really really overused
 
I did the buyproxies thing as well and for 10 a month I have had little issue with them. I get a new list every month and I update a couple tools with them and everything seems better. I will try the new locations like 0__00__0 said and see if that helps that out one less bill per month if nothing else
 
You could disable scraping on google. Only use Yahoo which will help make your free proxies go further.

public proxies are heavily used, but most likely Id guess that the vast majority of proxies that were good died while you were still harvesting them. I would just use your private proxies for scraping, or buy a public proxy service. If you can get in, proxygo has a great service (here on bhw).

But 98% of the time I only use private proxies for scraping because they are so reliable.

Just get Proxy Multiply, these software does marvels for me, it automates the whole process of proxy scraping. Just hit a button and you have thousands of proxies at hand in minutes.

thanks for the post im going to try out proxy multiply, are the proxies scraped active? and is there a filter option in it?
 
If you want to scrape, using public you need to do it fast. I gathered some proxies for other software, i didn't want to use my private ones. I scraped half an hour. Got 30 google passable, but when i retested them only couple of them were still working. So if you want to use public do this with short sessions. Leaving the harvester on for day will just make your proxies turn red, if you test them
