Hello Friendly Friends

I'm currently working on a product review website. the information about the product i get from a website and it rated the product on like 100 different points. Now i'm kinda remaking it using their content but i noticed i just use what they say soo much. So i was wondering if i get penalties for this? or are there things i can do to decrease the chance / another solution.

Check the uniqueness after writing the review. Use advego and see when the text is yellow, there you must corrected with your own words. Good luck!
 
The more unique you can make it, the better it will be for your site.
 
The information they have is for a member only area. Can Google still crawl those pages? Otherwise it wouldn't matter right?
 
Duplicate content is content that's on the same site. So 2 of the same articles on one website. People use other people's content all the time. It does help to have unique content, but "duplicate" content, is not the same as having content that another website has. Common myth.

What are you talking about???? Don't give wrong information to people!!! Duplicate content is a term used in the field of search engine optimization to describe content that appears on more than one web page. The duplicate content can be substantial parts of the content within or across domains and can be either exactly duplicate or closely similar.[SUP][1][/SUP] When multiple pages within a web site contain essentially the same content, search engines such as Google can penalize or cease displaying that site in any relevant search results.
 
Try to maintain uniqueness in all pages !!

I'm not, or at least I don't think I am. ---"multiple pages within a website, yes", but pages between different websites can still have the same content. That's why product reviews and things have so much similar content but don't get destroyed in the serps. There's only so much factual info about the same product. Also, don't ever quote Wikipedia.

Look at article syndication.

Duplicate content is web wide not site wide, when discussing penalties.

However I'm not convinced duplicate is in and of itself the issue, as you say there are loads of duplicate ranking all over the place.
 
Then how can article syndication be a worthwhile venture? If it only brought duplicate content penalties, people wouldn't do it.

Matt cutts, not that I believe a word he says, has said in the past that sensible syndication is allowed for, however how that translates to individual copies, I stand to be corrected but I have not seen any real impact. In fact I believe that Google still relies on people reporting each other for this. Otherwise they wouldn't need to have a page dedicated to reporting copy issues.
