Is this domain really aged?

Hey,
I`ve found this really nice aged domain which fits my niche perfectly. The problem is that softs like Trafic Travis which (from my experience) always tells the truth about domain`s age shows that the age of it is zero. Firefox plugin 'seo quake' also shows 'N/A' which means zero... but web-based checkers like http://www.seologs.com/dns/domain-check.html claims that it`s 5 years old. How can I really be sure that google is going to treat my domain as an older one before making a purchase? Thanks a lot.

You can look at the wayback machine to see if there was an active site on it then look at http://whois.domaintools.com under the registration tab. If it is registered 5 years ago it is genuine. If it is registered some time since then it is likely a dropped domain. I wouldn't pay $xxx for a drop.

BTW, N/A does not mean 0, it means that the data is unavailable in that tool at that time so don't be frustrated by that.

If it was dropped, I wouldn't pay $xxx for that domain, unless its worth the value based on factors other then being old. You can check it at http://www.domaintools.com/research/whois-history/

if it's an EMD then it's worth the money. 5 years old domains can be found very easily.
