i have 2 contents and their names are
1.How to become thinner in 10 days
2.How to become thinner in 50 days

they have slightly different informations and #2 is kinda longer. will i get penalized for this?

It would actually depend on the words that you copy. If suppose you have a line "Become thinner in 10 days" and you copied to "Become thinner in 50 days" ... then yes it is copying..

and

if suppose you have line "Become thinner in 10 days" and "You can become thin in 50 days" .. then its would not be a copy. Hope this helps!

While that is true, also look at the rest of the content. Is it basically the same in each method ? Uniqueness of title alone just won't cut it.

As the articles are used again and again by Spun method so try to spun your titles

I would think it would be more important to rewrite the content rather than be worried about the title. But the title is not that hard to rewrite, here ya go..

1.How to lose weight in only ten days
2.50 days to a slimmer you

Took me faster to rewrite than it did to write this post!

Btw, define "penalized"?

Same title doesn't mean same content or duplicate content... It depends upon information which you providing through both articles and if they are same then yes they are duplicate... I know a person who wrote 1500 unique copyscape passed quality content on acai berry for his ezine account... That means you can write same information again and again just write differently...

The answer to your question is yes it is duplicate content, and no you aren't necessarily penalized. Most likely only one of them will stay indexed. So not really really a penalty just wasted effort and no value.

Well, if the content on that page is duplicate, yes, it is duplicate content. The title being the same name as another title is not duplicate content. Therefore, you can rank for "How to train your guinea pig to dance for fun and profits", even if another site has the same title. Preferably, for that page to rank, it should be unique and have at least something to do with guinea pigs.
