well i have the mac.
i am open to the PC idea too you guys are suggesting alien ware and expensive comps, im just starting IM why would i have 1,500 to spend on a laptop right now ?

I may look into the pc though instead of the laptop but i hate needing to sit at a desk i like being comfortable while im writing essays and stuff. and programming/html.

I haven't started anything yet but ive been learning HTML i got a textbook on it but until i get the pc i dont think i can make my niche site, my o button here is broken so i copy and paste so itl be a bitch messing with html stuff.

asus and acer are probably my best bets, i saw a decent one at awalmart for cheap but it was out/stock
 
I would just get a bigger mac, and just load windows on it and you can run both. Get 4 screens and you will be laughing. That is my set up and i have no problems at all with speed running windows and mac at the same time.

You can run Windows on a Mac in order to run your IM software. THat being said, the mac you are looking at has terrible stats. A good mac will cost a lot of money so it all depends on your budget. i prefer macs
 
I don't get why some people told you the MAC is better than the Lenovo (of the two you linked to).

If you do decide to build your own pc, I recommend going with AMD if you are on a budget.

i noticed alot of ppl on here are retarded. if you read the previous posts i own that retarded laptop which is why im looking for a better one, so i was comparing that other shitty comp to my mac now.

I used to hate Acer with a passion, but my Toshiba fried on the road last spring and I bought a cheap Acer to replace it for like $400, it has been great to me. Which was a hell of a surprise considering all the past experience I have had with Acer products. Not a bad make for an economy model laptop in my opinion. I think their quality has come up a fair bit from the old Acer I used to hate.

do you guys know legitemate places besides newegg.com and amazon and ebay to buy cheap comps ? newegg is shit. amazon doesnt have what i want. ebay i cant go to.
 
Well if you can get macbook go for it , it is best PC in world , extremely fast and you wont have any problems with it

I've lost my faith in Toshiba. I've had 4 Toshibas, 2 Acers, a Lenovo, and an HP.

Lenovo and HP scrap them right off the bat, don't even look at them. My last couple of Toshibas have shit the bed completely, which is aggravating when you're paying a premium for the brand name. Nt to mention Toshibas seem to have a boatload of battery related issues.

I bought this last Acer with no intention of it lasting. I bought it outright because it was cheap, and it has stood up to almost a year of abuse now without skipping a beat. I do believe their quality has improved dramatically over the past couple years. In terms of bang for your buck, I think Acer is a reasonably good buy in today's laptop market. For the price, you can't go wrong. Just my $0.02.

If you think buying a Toshiba is a good idea just based on the brand name, you're wrong. I was a Toshiba fanboy forever, and they've gone to shit. I'd take another Acer over a Toshiba at this point, no question. Half the price for a computer that lasts twice as long.
 
I wouldn't use a Mac for IM because some software you'll need isn't Mac ready. Actually most aren't.
 
Oh, and just as an additional suggestion. No matter what make you go out and buy, as soon as you get it, format the whole fucking thing and reinstall Windows fresh (assuming you're going to keep Windows). Every single one of the fuckers load their new laptops up with enough bloatware to sink an aircraft carrier these days. Save yourself the headaches it will cause down the line and clean things up in the beginning.
 
ASUS FTW one down side about ASUS is you either will get a really good one or a really crappy one that will give u a shit load of issues. But I still love ASUS.
