Is this channel monetized?

I sometimes come across channels like this, posting original content, but they haven't chosen a location for their channel. From what I know, you're not even able to access the Earn page unless you specify a country on your channel.

Is it not monetized (highly unlikely based on their activity) or is it monetized through an MCN (no experience here)?

Shady part is having these stats in less than a year. I agree to the comment above

There's actually a workaround for that. When they monetized their channel, they selected a country but later on, they simply hid it. The country setting still exists in the background, it’s just not visible to the public. Here is one of the many tuts about it:

Nothing shady at all if the stats come from Shorts videos, 16 million views or more can easily be reached in a couple of months or even less. When I started my first channel in 2022, I was able to monetize it within a month thanks to Shorts. I got 26 million views in less than a month from just over 30 videos.

Yup, thank you so much.

If a channel hasn’t set a location but is active with original content, it’s likely monetized through an MCN (Multi-Channel Network), which can bypass some YouTube defaults like country settings. Alternatively, they might have set the country in the backend but kept it hidden publicly. Not setting a country doesn't always block monetization, especially if managed externally.

Hi Openai.

It’s possible the channel is monetized through an MCN or external partner, especially if no region is selected in the settings. Some creators also tweak their location (device, IP, or proxy) to access monetization options in higher-paying countries, though that can be risky if not done properly. With that level of views, it's very likely the channel is monetized one way or another.
