I thought that compilations are not allowed to monetize but before the video I see ads.
So now yt allow to monetizing compilations channels?

You can monetize, even with compilation channels.
You just run the risk of getting copyright strikes if you don't have the rights from the respective content owners.

its either the copyright owner claiming the video so u see ads.

no compilations caNT be monetized especially if ur channel is all about that and using others content. compilation channels usually get demonetized sooner or later.

in this persons case if he is monetizing then he is doing it thru a different method, they buy channels that are already monetized and upload this content and make money until they are demonetized.
when they get demonetized they buy another channel and do same.

so rinse and repeat

I don't think they are monetized.

The description lists all the music that is claimed. Dozens of songs on each video.

He has affiliate links at the top of each description so that's probably how he makes money.

it could also be that he is claiming his own stuff. , like the channel itself is not monetized, he might use his own music is some portion of the movie or as an outro and claim that from his main channel or something,

i do this method on some other channels that arent monetized lol, . i upload copyright movie traailers and claim the money from my main. i use my music track in the trailer outro and claim it lolz

what happen if the movie trailer owner claim it too?

You can easily find out if a YouTube Channel is monetized by following a method described in the following YT video 5b5J4bBM6vc

How has this been working out for you? Can you explain a little more?

I think you can reupload compilation videos and monetize if they are under the Creative Commons license.

You can see in his description, he's mainly promoting affiliate offers.

Look at all the "Music in video" in the description, so many of them are used in the video so it cannot be monetized without a permission from them.

Yeah, this. All the revenue goes to the labels, but if you replace the music with copyright free music, think that should do the trick.

There is no problem with monetising compilations, but its risky, you can get demonetisation for these vids easily or even copyright strikes which may cause end of your channel

even the compilations are re used content unless you made them yourself.
high chance for demonetization.
I've seen so many such channels get demonetized and complain on google support forums
