Trying to sell some furniture on Craigslist (moving to another apt) so I list the pics and price. I get this response back:

Good to hear back from you. I'm okay with the price and the condition.
Presently, i am out of town with my WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION TEAM to
raise funds for People Living with Diabetes and i won't be able to
come for the
inspection due to the nature of my work. Moreover, I would have loved
to call but our satellite server has been down in recent days which
restricts our calls. I will be paying you through PayPal as it is the
only Medium at which i can send Payment at the Moment.
I would appreciate if you email me with more pictures (if available) too
since i won't be be able to see this in person. And if you don't have a
PayPal account, It's pretty easy to set up a PayPal account at
http://www.paypal.com . it's just a few minutes away from signing up. it's
safe and secure for both Parties and i have been using PayPal to buy
and sell for years
now without problems. Pls get back to me with your PayPal email so i
can proceed with the payment and contact the Pick up Agent who will
come for the Pick up of the item.
I will need these following details so i can proceed with the payment right away

1:Your PayPal e-Mail Address
2: Home Address

As soon as you get back to me with your PayPal email, I'll proceed
with full Payment. I look forward to reading from you soon.

Sounds like a scam but if I get my money via paypal immediately how could I get scammed?

Thanks all!

They can't scam you by paying you but its obviously fake and they are up to something. My initial guess is after they know your PayPal address they will try to phish your account by sending an email that looks like its from PayPal.

Thats exactly what they do. You will get a cloaked confirmation email from paypal, that will actually be from something like paypalconfirm.pl etc.

Some of them look really good. Took me and a mate ten minutes of spotting typos and small mistakes to work out exactly what the scam was.

Yes it is. Whenever you get an email like this after posting something on Craigslist, just do the basics. 'Google Search' it and you will find the scam information in detail. CL is full of spam and scams lol!

I got a similar scam email when I put my car for sale last year...

Sure you could be scammed. He /She pays with PP, you get the funds and happily turn over the goods to the "Pick-Up Agent ".

He opens a item not received claim and you are fresh out of luck since you don't have a tracking number. Old scam. Just tell him to give the funds to the agent and pay you cash when they pick it up. You will never hear a word again.

Thanks all ...

I'll have some fun with this one!!!! :rocketwho

Like some one else posted on another thread, use PPD and upload some fake data and send them a message with the PPD file URL and tell them all the photos and your paypal information is in there.

On another note it does sound very suspicious and I would think its a scam.
