    if so what's the angle?


    sell me domains? or just get my email?


    never seen this one before...



    (my site name, other company's name, and registrar mentioned all removed to avoid outing both my info and theirs)

    This sounds fishy.... I think they want to sell you some chinese domain-name registration. I would simply ignore it, but if you want to go sure, then you could contact that "other company" that wants to register your name in china as a brand. If this company exists and they have no clue what this managerin is talking about you know that its a scam/some other fishy stuff...

    Another thing that came into my mind: the email you recieved didn´t look very legit. I would double check that "registrars domain name".

    yes, i get these too. i think its scam, i just ignore them.

    This is a marketing email
    They grab emails from whois database and send spam to any whatever.com and they say if you want to keep your brand in china register whatever.cn as well.

    if you have to ask 'is this a scam?' then most likely it's a scam.
