Is this a ranking glitch?

I have noticed some sites are ranking very fast, like in a couple days, using a tactic where they buy a very similar domain to a popular site.
for example, yesmovies-to.info is ranking very high for the keyword "yesmovies" (new site no backlinks and low DR) and the "real site" is yesmovies.to

is this a known technique????? (I am new to SEO so I don't know)

That is an SEO technique used to leverage high-ranking domains. The goal is to make Google recognize these domains as being related. However, it is only a minor advantage. If the SEO specialist fails to capitalize on it effectively or maintain the rankings, it can result in a drop in rank within a short period.

This doesn't seem like a ranking glitch but more of a strategy using domain similarity to capture related traffic.
While it might give short term ranking advantages, but long term success depends on factors like content quality, backlinks, and user engagement. If you rely only on this method, your rankings can drop fast if you don’t manage it well or if Google flags it.
