My keywords have been steadily rising in Serps over the past few months (site is years old and has taken hits and bonuses from various updates) but today when I got to work I saw that sales were down 80% and that Penguin had rolled out. Fearing the worst, I ran the SEO report - what I saw has confused me.
Where in the past I have been hammered by Penguin, on 10/20/2014, the SEO report was the best I have seen in over a year. Tons of keywords were added, many on page 1, those on or close to page 1 are now near the top. I have been trending upword for months now, but this was a massive jump.
The SEO report is run out of a Florida data center, and I have confirmed the results with manual searches with browsers in privacy mode in CA + Tennessee.
It seems like it would be a time to pop a bottle of champagne and celebrate winning this round with Google, but my sales are down 80% today.
It's almost like they rolled out an awesome update to half the data centers, and the plague to the rest of them. I have never seen such a disconnected SEO report.
