My competitor has a domain that was owned by a restaurant and now it's got alot of high PR backlinks from authority sites pointing to it when it was a restaurant's site. But it's not and I was thinking about contacting the high PR websites to remove the link as it's false information (No longer a restaurant's website).

Is this cheap or should I go for it?

I believe you will not get anywhere with that tactic, but you can try, go with one link if its successful go for the others.

But honestly I don't like your tactic, I hate when people play dirty and you wanna play dirty.
 
I didnt originally ever want to play dirty, but think about who's actually playing dirty here.

The guy basically has free backlinks from good sites that arent updated yet. I'm just helping those webmasters fix their site links as it no longer leads to where it is supposed to.
 
If you can provide them with a better source to link to then why not? your doing them and their readers + yourself a favour lol

I wouldn't consider that wrong myself if anything its the right thing to do

You can justify it however you want, getting free links is not a crime. Instead wasting your time on removing a few links its better you find some expired pr domain with good backlinks and use it for your site.

BHW is all about rasing everyones game, not dragging others down to your level....
 
Well since it's looked down upon, I'll pass it up. Not worth doing it anyways I can beat him building better links.
 
You do not have to beat him. Your own initial thoughts on strategy must be expanded.
 
OP, forget this idea. Why not concentrate on getting better quality links for you own site?
Or pick up some expired domains with a good backlink profile.
