So we are a software company, we are in the process of going live for the first time in couple of weeks.
This is our plan so far upon launch:

Buy that $70-$80 Whirlwind Press Release service, which will get our press release submitted everywhere.

At the same time, Buy Software submission service from Fiver.
We have 5 software, and we were planning to buy a service for each of them. Some guy promised to submit our software to over 1000's of software directory for $5.

So, basically, Press Release service + Software Submission Service(x5)

Is this going too much? Should I submit software once and then wait a week for another or?

We're not sure what would be a good approach, any help/suggestion and greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

No one knows?

OP did you ever end up submitting to software directories? Did you give up? Did you end up getting any traffic? Let us know how that went. Interested to hear.

No its not too much at all. Basically, I would say this is an imperfect plan for a launch. I dont know if you know , You must stir when you launch something, Like you should have a monthly plan for it. something like

We are going to do media buying on x,y,z sites,
We would be on fb ads for the first 10 days of the luanch
we are would have a weekly press release on this , this and this topic..

Sounds good?

The following the worth it:
Press Release, announcing your brand "NEW" software. I did not have too much luck announcing the "UPDATED" version of the software. It did get me a lot of backlinks and few traffics.

As for Pad submit, it's worth it IMO. I don't think it'll hurt you at least. Once you submit, it usually pops up in the "New software" section of a lot of the websites, and that usually gets okay amount of downloads. So worth it? Yes.

These both got me a lot of backlinks but the question is does Google count these backlinks? No idea.

These 2 so far has been my only source of traffic. Press Releases and PAD submit to directories. Here and there, I get lucky and magazine covers contract me to tell me how great my software is and they publish it on magazines. That gets me tons of purchase.

I haven't been too well lately though, pretty low traffic.

submitting to software sites is waste of time.. but who cares for $5 bucks. u can try that.

i suggest you to go with Proper SEO and Adwords if you are serious!

How many downloads did you get from PAD submits? Did you find a good submission service?

If your SEO strategy is built around Fiverr, you're in trouble.

The Press Release is obviously not built around Fiverr. As for submit, no idea how many downloads. I would say at least 200? I just did it once, have some guy in fiverr run it through 4 paid software, robosoft, pad submitter worker pro, and whatever else. Just do it once, and that's really enough. Pad submission barely does anything but i still think it's better than nothing.

Like everyone else is saying, I think proper SEO is more worth it. I didn't have much luck with adwords though.

Yeah, that's not that many at all.
