Would it be a good idea to buy thousands of unique visitors to my affiliate link for a product?

$4.50 = 10,000 Real visitors

Do you guys think this is a good idea? I'm promoting what I believe to be a hot niche right now.

No....

Those views are normally bad at converting into sales.

But hey, maybe you have a good source. Try it out for $20 and see.

What kind of traffic is it?

Is it targeted to niche-specific?

I mean, it's worth a shot, test and even if you have a low conversion rate .1% or so, it'd still be worth it.

I think you could make at least 1 sale out of every 10,000 visitors with this niche, I'm just wary of the effectiveness of this method.

Targeted traffic, I'm going to try to target a specific age range as the niche has to do with something that currently has over 1,000,000 diehard members.

This is going to be the crappiest traffic, most likely not even human. Most people that buy this type of traffic are using it to boost visitor stats to hide BH affiliate methods or inflate You Tube/article views etc.
Having said that it's only going to cost you $4.50 to try it out so go ahead and let us know the results.

More than likely you won't get a sale but for $4.50 who cares. Give it a go, maybe some of the traffic will be real and you will get a sale or two. Then you will have just found a winner.

The only traffic that is that cheap is bot traffic, and bots don't have credit cards.

This is a 100% waste of your money unless you know why you need it.

If it were really that easy to get real visitors we wouldn't need BHW

I would only for the fact that it's 4.50 and you will see where it gets you. Just keep notes and trying different strategies. Good luck to you!!
