Is this a good cold outreach tactic?

Sending an sms saying
"Hi "+toFirstName+", this is firstname with companyname, if you can give me a call during business hours that'd be great"

as a way of getting prospects to call in as opposed to making dials manually for cold calling?

Need feedback on whether this will be a turnoff

I doubt any cold lead would just call a number without any info on what to expect.

9% are calling you back without you giving them any context?

I'm surprised, but I guess it's only working this well because people want to know what it's about, as it could be important.

If you want to keep it like this, I think you could improve it by somehow making it seem even more important/urgent.

You can increase your return rate by being more vague but the inbound calls wouldnt convert as well.

"Hey John, it's Joe. Give me a call when you get a chance"

That will for sure increase your inbound rate because it's much more vague

And you can add the reason you are contacting them like "Hi John, it's Joe. I wanted to introduce you to my new marketing service. Let me know when we can chat".

This way you'll automatically cut those who just want to know what is it about and save extra time.

I'm not a huge fan of giving prospects leverage. I always prefer to tell them rather than ask.

"Give me a call" is stronger than "let me know"

"Hi John, it's Joe. I noticed a few problems with your marketing. Give me a call when you have a chance".

The key to scripting is bullshitting back and forth with other guys till the script fits.

I have 7 years cold calling experience not much via text though

Agreed. I haven't practiced cold outreach much so I am not a pro, it was just an advice from the efficiency point of view.

Your advice was good! As far as cold calling no one is ever a pro the whole idea is constantly evolving

some people may not like a sms text like that. Definetly is a turnoff.
