I want to make a living off of IM and other online/freelance work, and in the meantime for a more typical/'social' kind of job I'm also becoming a bartender and waiter.

Some folks are always talking about needing college, including my own folks, but I like my idea more.

Don't worry man. I get the same shit from my 'rents. I actually am going to become a bartender soon (going to school in the summer). I am planning to go back to college for business management/marketing just to help what I am learning here.

No matter what you do in life, learn from every action.

I have held five jobs in the past year excluding IM related, and I must say I have analyzed and put to use stuff I have learned from every one of them. Take life as a huge learning experience, combine the good, toss away the bad, and have a helluva good time with it.

I think it's a good plan. I just got started learning the ropes of IM a couple of months ago and am trying to 'breakthrough' so to speak. If I could only get to the point where I'm earning $50-100 per day, I would quit my crappy office job I hate and probably take up a social type job a la bartender to supplement my income.

There is nothing wrong with first trying to work and going back to school second if IM doesn't work out. It's great in the interview that you can tell the person how you built a business, made great money and worked hard at nights as well. Believe me, it's a lot more interesting than what most kids are doing.

Just make sure to put some of the money that you make away for school just in case you want to go.
