Is this a bad plan for SEO architecture?

First of all, thanks for reading my post, I really need some advice :)

For context: we are located in Spain, sector is holiday rental and country house. We are in a small village near a popular aerodrome where people fly gliders and motorless aircraft, the aerodrome gets around 2k monthly searches with almost no competition. The nearest town is about 10 miles away.

The house sleeps 6-8 people, has a private walled garden with grass and trees, a covered chill-out area, a barbecue, a heated swimming pool with easy-access ladder, and the house itself is a restored stable with a lot of character and charm.

We have four distinct customer profiles with genuinely different needs. Families care about no stairs, a safe enclosed garden, pool accessibility for kids and elderly guests. Groups of friends care about the barbecue, the big open kitchen, multiple bathrooms and outdoor space. Couples care about total privacy, the romantic atmosphere and the quality of the bedroom and bathroom. Aviation enthusiasts care about proximity to the aerodrome above everything else.

I am planning to build separate pages for each profile but I have a few concerns I would love your input on.

The first is authority dilution. With a DR of around 10-13 and 31 referring domains, I am worried that spreading across 8-10 pages might leave each individual page too weak to rank. Would it make more sense to consolidate everything into fewer stronger pages, or is the topical relevance gain from separate pages worth the dilution at this domain authority level?

The second is thin content. Even with genuinely different copy for each profile, the underlying property and features are the same. At what point does Google consider this thin or duplicate, and what is the minimum content depth per page to avoid that risk?

The third is search intent verification. I have checked the SERPs in incognito for different profile searches and the results are somewhat similar across groups. Does that mean I should consolidate into one page and use H2s to segment by profile, or are the differences in user intent enough to justify separate URLs?

On the aerodrome specifically; this feels like a real opportunity given the search volume and lack of competition. The aerodrome has an expensive on-site camping so I suspect a meaningful chunk of those visitors would consider the house as an alternative. My plan is to build a dedicated aviators page in the main navigation and try to establish a relationship with the aerodrome for a backlink or cross-promotion. A few questions here: how much topical authority does a backlink from the aerodrome's website actually transfer given they are in a completely different sector? Is there a risk that a page targeting aviation keywords on a holiday rental domain confuses Google about what the site is about? And would internal linking from the aviators page to the main booking page be enough to drive conversions or does it need its own booking flow?

Finally, on site architecture, should the customer profile pages live at root level like /families/ and /couples/ or nested under something like /stays/families/? And for a site this size with this domain authority, how many pages is too many before crawl budget becomes a real concern?

Thanks in advance.

Your plan isn’t bad, just needs a bit of simplification.

Don’t create too many pages at your current authority. Better to have 1 strong main page and maybe 2 to 3 supporting pages. You can cover families, couples, and groups on one page with sections instead of splitting everything.

For the aerodrome, that’s your best angle. Definitely make a dedicated page for it. Low competition + clear intent is a win. A backlink from them will help, even if it’s a different niche.

No issue with mixing aviation and rental as long as it’s relevant. Just keep it natural.

For structure, keep it simple like /families/ or /aerodrome-stay/, no need to over-nest.

Focus on strong pages, not too many. Quality over quantity will work better for you right now.

Man I can not express how greatful I am for your reply. THIS is the type of advice I want to hear, straight to the point.
Let me ask you couple questions which popped up with your reply:
  1. Page with all of the different groups (including every keyword naturaly in the text) and segmenting each group with H2, right?
  2. Page to present the house, should I make H2's for heated pool, backyard? They got searches.
  3. I dont want to make a Surrounding page as it diludes authority and doesnt bring sales. What about free area guide in exchange for mail? Better for customers and better to get leads from visitors which dont convert.
  4. Guess the stong main page must be the hero page? General keywords, some intro and good copy + images?
Thanks again for your message! Much appreciated!

For a site that size I wouldn’t worry too much about crawl budget. The bigger question is search intent. If the SERPs look very similar, it might be better to keep one strong main page and segment profiles with clear sections instead of splitting authority.

The aerodrome page sounds like a good opportunity though, especially if you can get a relevant backlink or partnership from them. That kind of contextual link can still carry strong local value even if the niche is slightly different.

Your plan isn’t bad it just needs to stay lean and intent-focused.

I’d avoid creating too many separate pages at your current authority; start with one strong main page and only split into separate URLs if search intent is clearly different and supported by SERPs. Keep each page genuinely unique and useful, not just reworded features, and you’ll avoid thin content issues.

The aerodrome angle is a good opportunity one highly focused page + internal links to booking is enough, and even a single relevant backlink there can help without confusing Google.

Not a bad plan at all but with a dr of 10 13 you do need to be careful  id personally consolidate slightly maybe 4 5 strong pages with clear h2 sections for each profile :smirk: keep the aerodrome page internal linking to bookings should work fine just make it super clear and conversion friendly  root level urls like families usually perform better for small sites and with 50 pages crawl budget wont be an issue

You’re overthinking it a bit. I’d keep a strong main page and create a few focused subpages only where intent clearly differs (like the aerodrome angle).

As long as each page adds real value and isn’t just reworded content, you’ll be fine. One solid local backlink from the aerodrome could actually move the needle more than spreading thin pages.

Yep, lean wins here. With a DR around 10–13, you’re better off 4–5 strong pages with genuine depth than 8–10 thin ones. Use one solid hub page and 2–3 focused subpages if the intents are clearly different; otherwise, cover profiles as sections on the same page (H2s for Families/Couples/Groups). Make sure each page provides unique value and avoid duplicating content. Keep the structure simple (root-level URLs usually beat deep nests on small sites) and rely on clean internal links to move users to the booking path rather than creating a couple of convoluted routes. If you add the aerodrome angle, treat it as a content cluster with natural internal links to core pages rather than a separate, competing page.

You’re thinking about it the right way already. With a DR around that level, I’d probably keep the structure simple and focus on a few strong pages instead of many thin ones. One solid main page for the property, then maybe a couple of supporting pages (like families and aviation visitors) could work better than spreading the authority across too many URLs.

Hey s666chez, separate pages can work if each has strong, unique content. Root level URLs make sense, and the aerodrome backlink could help with targeted traffic.

SERPs are similar but I feel like different pages for family and friend groups will increase conversion.
But might not be worth it for authority as you say so how should I talk about both groups within the same page so each one knows where to look? I want the UX to be good.

Okay, here is the issue. SERP are similar BUT content is different as wants and needs for each group are as well. IDK what to do. This is my actual architecture, Id appreciate someone checking it out;

Great, simplicity and valuable content.

Here is my strategy for the group section in case anybody wants to give their opinion on it (aviators section missing):

Treasure hunt for kids — if you let us know in advance, we can set up a treasure hunt with clues around the garden and the house. Ask Ana.

[H2] Frequently asked questions — families

Do you accept pets? Yes. Up to two pets, mainly dogs. €10 per pet per day.

The current approach seems overly complex. Maintain a primary landing page, supplemented by limited, intent-segmented subpages (e.g., aerodrome-specific queries). Ensure content differentiation and value depth; a single authoritative local backlink may yield stronger ranking signals than diluted page expansion.
I get what you are saying. Only issue is that wants and needs are really different and I want UX to be good so separate pages makes sense. If I were to mix groups in 1 page, how would you do it for UX to be good?

Not a bad plan at all but with a dr of 10 13 you do need to be careful  id personally consolidate slightly maybe 4 5 strong pages with clear h2 sections for each profile :smirk: keep the aerodrome page internal linking to bookings should work fine just make it super clear and conversion friendly  root level urls like families usually perform better for small sites and with 50 pages crawl budget wont be an issue
Great, so put every group but aviators within the same page as SERP is similar and then have a page targeting the aerodrome and aviators?
Only question is, how do I mix groups of friends, families and couples in the same page whilst making the UX great and easy for everyone to find the information for their profile?

Hey s666chez, separate pages can work if each has strong, unique content. Root level URLs make sense, and the aerodrome backlink could help with targeted traffic.
There is unique content as you can see on the architecture I posted but I can still put every group together so I dont dilude that much authority. SERP is pretty similar for friends and family, not for couples tho.

Only question is how do I do this whilst making UX great and info about each profile easy to find?

Separate pages are fine as long as the copy is unique to each group. Don't worry about authority dilution at this size since the relevance is so high. That aerodrome link would be huge for local rankings. :)
