Is there such thing as a damaged account?

Sometimes I read something about an account being damaged from bot used.

But what does that mean? Is that real?

Is it possible that because I used a bot my posts get less visibility? So for example without damage my post would have been seen by 500 people but because it is damaged only 200 see it?

Yes, its called shadow banned.
Your engagement rate will go down, your hashtags wont work, never get into explore page and lot of things can happen if they shadow ban you

To add on to this, this is why people recommend to stop automation at 10K followers. Also, it's important to post good content so that your viewers are engaging so that you can still have some reach.

yes using bots will harm your account. especially when you are at the beginning of your account building. so try to put out different content and team up with other small accounts for a shoutout. sometimes an account is so damaged probably it is better to start a new one. I hope that is not your case.

If your reach has been limited, it doesn't necessarily means that your IG account has been "damaged". Start posting HQ content and your reach will grow as soon as the engagement rate does.

Yes, if you have been spamming too much lately, already had two copyright strikes and/or have been following/liking way over the radar, your account is doomed(or can get doomed anytime) so it's like playing with fire. Your reach would be 10x lesser and your actions will yield much lesser response than you initially thought they would be.

Also, depending on how far you've gone, you're always at the risk of getting banned for the smallest of the issues.
