Is there really so much money in Content writing ? Advice Needed !

I've actually made a some pretty decent money from content writing. I recently found a website that has a nice platform where you can also resell your content and compete in bids.

In content writing, you make money from building up a clientele. You want to put yourself in a position where you are that customer's ONLY writer. It is definitely possible to make some serious money this way. However, you have to be a very strong writer. Also, offering your services at premium prices is a GOOD, because it weeds out customers that aren't serious enough to pay for high quality content.

Hey, Listen carefully. In writing articles, I am making money every month on autopilot. Content is money, I think you know that one. But the question is why you don't want to write and monetize in your own blog? If your content is informative and unique, you will make money automatically bro using blogs. Instead of writing for another site, write it in your own blog, apply in Adsense or any other alternative web site...

I think there are few routes you can take on, when we are talking about writing for a living. They are covered by the people who posted before me I think. But let`s stop talk about actual methods and talk about results.

The truth is - writing for money is basically selling X hours a day for X amount of money per day. Have in mind there are two types of people on this planet - people who are slling their time and people who are selling their ideas. The first are those who work 9-5. The second ones are the people who hire those who work 9-5. The conclusion is this - if you can be from those who sells their ideas, that`s nice. There is a way in which you can do it even in IM and even in articles writing. However, if you are from the first ones, the people who are selling their time - then at least make sure you are selling your time for a good money.

There are things that can hold you back if you don't have Master Plan. Let's say you start working for content mills - yes, you will make money, eventually, but at some point you will be at the place where the only way in which you can earn more money per day would be to increase your working hours. I mean - the earnings from such places have limits. And can be irregular sometimes. But at least you are not wasting time dealing with searching for clients - this saves you time which you can spend typing some more articles and doing extra money. So there are good sides and... not that awesome sides. But let's get to the Master Plan - if you don't have such, you better make one. And when you make it, make sure it's reasonable and possible to be archieved. I mean it's fine if your master plan is to make 200$ per day. But in the meantime you must have some food on the table, etc. So you must take steps to earn those money. It's like that - the first day you want to archieve some small sum. Let's say 10$. At the end of the week you would like to make 20-50$ per day. And so on. Have a plan how to cover your current expenses. And have a plan how to increase your current earnings in the future.

Decide for yourself if you can spend all your time to go after well-paying clients and if you can afford to wait till you find them. Or if you need to spend half your time( or more) writing articles for content mills, or some not so well paying clients in the meantime, to cover your needs and the needs of your family, if you have such.

That`s the advice I can give you.

Absolutely agreed. The content mills may have been great several years ago but saturation and google updates have put a damper on those sites potential. When I joined texbroker the assignments available looked like they were picked over by vultures. The only available assignments had confusing instructions, or would take a ridiculous amount of time to complete for only a few dollars. One that comes to mind is a request for a summary of a nearly hour video of an episode of fallen televangelist JIM BAKER! Blech! I'd rather pay THEM not to have to watch! Plus, all my writing would be subject to the style guide and punctuation Nazis. No thanks again....
Better to write what you like for your own website/blog, then try to monetize it at some point, IMHO.

Hey OP did you end up finding a better place to sell your skills?

The reason why most people whine about not finding quality writers is simple: They want quality for the price of quantity! And they don't understand that writers who will work for peanuts don't deliver anything worthwhile!

You have to realize that good content writers or ghost bloggers (essentially the same job) earn between 50-70$ PER POST! (depending on what topic etc etc between 350-500 words) (If they're truly good)... I'm talking published authors, seasoned bloggers, journalists etc kind of writers.. That will entrance your audience into being completely hooked to your blog. Also, certain niche areas require insider knowledge.. that will cost you extra!

Following those guys, you have the ones that are still extremely good at writing, just not published authors and such... (college level language skills, hobby bloggers, hobby authors etc kind of thing) with an easy 30-40$ per post.

That really makes those .10 cent per word look laughable right? Most of these writers offer packages though, for example one post a week is 60$, take more than 2 posts a week for 3 months and you go down to 50$ per post etc...

Of course there is a mint of money to be made, but as we all know it is usually best made when you are affiliated with top notch companies. Otherwise it seems the money is not always dependable.

If you are a natural good writer. It will be an easy thing for you to make good amount of money. Moreover, if you put quality with speed then that's even greater news for you.

Many people will want to pay you good capital as long as you fulfill their needs. I'm sure someone will give you good money

some people, though, will pay you good but eventually build it up

Yes there can be good money in content writing. As long as you know what you are doing and do some research, you can succeed. I know several that are successful at it.
