Is there money to be made flipping wordpress websites?

If So, what type and how. I stated in another post elsewhere on the site an offer for anyone willing to help me out with flipping my first website.

I'd sure like some help. I hope someone is interested.

Hell yes there is. I actually prefer to start WP blogs, then sell them.

    Profitable niches:
    Personal Finance
    Diet
Web - (web development, design, seo)

All of these are profitable because there are a ton of blogs out there in these niches, so there are tons of potential backlinks. Personal Finance allows you to sell links for money very early on (payday loan sites). Diet allows you to throw CPA offers in. Web, ah, but I have sold a few of these after building up about XX,XXX backlinks from being in a few top commentators.

    Basically, there are two steps:
    1. Write decent material at least 3 times a week, but make sure you have at least 5 posts a week.
    2. Do to other blogs in that niche and comment.

What niche are you looking in?

How long do I have to keep them? I was thinking that I could put them up. Ad some content or at least PROVIDE some content to be added along with the URL and adsense and other advertising . .. and sell roughly within two days.

I was thinking forex and real estate

    I actually own the URL

    StockBuys.c0m

I think I make be able to do something with that . . . .

I personally thing selling the WP sites within 2 days will not be that lucrative. I think people will buy them but you will not make $$$ from the sites because people will easily be able to see that they are new domains and not established.

No idea how to flip something like that in 2 days. 1 month would probably be the minimum to get at least $500.

And seriously, two things - content, backlinks.

What type of sites are best for quick flips?

I'm going strictly off of the thoughts put forth in the ebook entitled

[Get-Ebook-of-DP-Seller]- How to Make Instant Cash of $500 per day with Flipping Website

If I'm totally off base in thinking that this is possible let me know.
I need some quick cash and I dont want to waste my time . . .though I do see website flipping as a long term biz opp for myself.

Excellent questions. I have always been leery to sell wp blogs because the mysql database transfer can throw newbies into a loop. This has always been a sticking point for me. So I want to run a scenario that has been going through my head that may work (or may not) and want your guys input.

This is if you do not have a reseller hosting account but decide to throw in the hosting for free. Get a good reliable free hosting account with a mysql database (recommendations please) and set up the blog initially with this account. You should setup a separate email in gmail or whatever just to link it up with the free hosting. Then when you sell and transfer the domain you give the new owner the free hosting and email account.

Would this work? And if so what are some good free hosting accounts that include mysql databases?

    Or you could:
    a) Offer to install it for free
    b) Offer to install it for a price

I have never had anyone have a problem with the transfer. I did have someone pay me $100 to install it for them because they were too lazy.

Charlie I think you are being slightly mislead by the ebook and I think its very unlikely that you will flip a wordpress blog in 2 days for around $500. Its virtually impossible as the buyer would have to be stupid to purchase.

DeskCoder is right when he says you are looking at around a month as long as you add valuable content and backlinks. A good domain name always helps.

That is definitely true. I'm thinking about the stupid e*bay buyers of which I was one 18 months ago. It might have only been me but when someone said in their listing that they would transfer to my hosting (heck I have no freaking hosting) or they would sell me hosting (hey I don't want to buy hosting). Or mention a mysql database (my eyes glazing over). I would move on to another listing which just said they would give me free hosting and no more complications than that.

Also I never transferred a mysql database myself. It is probably very easy but what are the steps?

For the mysql database, you can export with phpmyadmin, then import on your new phpmyadmin. It's not hard at all.

    Sitepoint is the best.

I have heard try eBay, but I don't like not being in full control of the price.

    Hey guys,

Interesting topic here. I never really thought about flipping sites but this could be good.

Because I've never flipped a site, what would you guys think would be a minimum needed (more or less) to sell a site for $500...or even $2/300?

Basically over a year ago I bought like 60 domains (.co.uk's not .infos) and they're all finance related so I put wordpress on each and am about to start putting unique (*cough spun) articles on each and was planning on selling backlinks to other finance sites.

What do you guys think would be better (more lucrative)? Sell backlinks per month or try to sell on Sitepoint/DP for at least $200 preferrably $500?

Also, how many pages do you think I'd need per site? 60 blogs and trying to get links/content within a month or so would be tough but IF I could pull it off, could I sell 'em for that?

Or, if not, what would you charge for backlinks per site per month? $5 a site?

    Thanks for any help/tips :)

Real blogs (I will explain later) need to be updated regularly to be effective. My rule of thumb is that I keep sites until I either get tired of them, or I stop making money. I would sell backlinks, see how much money you can make a month consistently, and try to add more and more.

Seriously, and listen to this because I have been burned so many times by this:

Do not sell sites just to make a quick buck. If the site is making you consistent money, keep it. I sold a PR4 (now a PR5) Personal Finance site that made me over $700 in 3 months. I sold it for both the reasons mentioned above, but I only got $500 for it. I could have made $500 from it in a month easy.

By real blogs, I mean blogs intended to be blogs. I created a lot of "blogs", but some are CPA sites, some MFA.

    Hi DeskCoder

Thanks for your insights mate :)

Honestly, my "blogs" were/are being set up to earn Adsense but with "real" content, ie not some crappy spun-content genereated blogs.

Since I have so many blogs I was planning on uploading very readable, legible content that will be spun but I'll double-check for grammar, spelling etc. They do have Adsense all over them so I guess they're MFA sites but like I said, not unreadable crap.

I reckon I could sell links pretty cheap with discounts for links on the whole "network" (20 diff IPs) with a goal to make at least $2000 month in link sales. This could be too idealistic??

Add Adsense earnings with link sales and the whole lot could be a decent earner I hope. But, then I want to sell them all hopefully as one unit.

Is this plan doable and if so, how long do you think it could take? Could it be built and sold within a month or two? I need cash pretty damn soon.

    Thanks again
